In continuation to the guidelines for processing of Citizenship Card for those living abroad, the Department would like to inform all Bhutanese citizens residing abroad that the earlier requirement of biometric enrollment for cross-checking the photograph during the processing of first-time Citizenship Identity (CID) Cards has now been lifted.
With this change, applicants living abroad can process their CID card without the need for biometric enrollment, irrespective of age.
Requirement as below:
1. Applicant to send Authorization Letter in a prescribed format. (click here to download)
2. Passport Size Photograph (Should email a soft copy to your representative)
3. VISA copy/Proof of Stay
4. Representative to come with hardcopy of passport size photograph and complete a prescribed Undertaking Form. (click hereto download)
